MaryAnn is originally from Idaho, but she moved to Lubbock in 2015 to pursue a Ph.D. in comparative literature. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Brigham Young University-Idaho, a Master of Arts in Literature and Writing from Utah State University. She completed her Ph.D.  in English from Texas Tech University in 2020.

MaryAnn has been an Academic Advisor at Texas Tech since January 2021. She also has more than 10 years of experience teaching college students, and she currently teaches First Year Writing courses at Texas Tech in addition to advising. MaryAnn is passionate about helping students grow academically and personally. In her free time, MaryAnn enjoys reading, trying new recipes, and yoga.
