| Position Description | The Enterprise Systems Analyst IV's role is to provide technical expertise and leadership for teams that perform enterprise system design and architecture implementation, planning, and deployment of enterprise technology solutions. They are subject matter experts in their area of expertise and provide additional leadership to less experienced team members. This position is also expected to oversee complex system projects involving multiple areas and enterprise system capital replacement planning, as well as, assist senior departmental management in IT strategic planning. Discretion and sound judgment is expected. Enterprise positions are restricted for use in central IT Division areas reporting to the institutional CIO and, as such, may interface with key IT leadership and/or other functional leadership from the Texas Tech University System institutions. |
| Essential Job Functions | Works independently and/or leads team members to: Provide architectural design, development, testing, installation, deployment, maintenance, and administration of enterprise hardware and software systems. Perform systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Support enterprise hardware and software systems through system monitoring, problem diagnosis and resolution, configuration management, systems programming, and systems integration. Manages: Planning, implementation, and deployment for complex enterprise systems and/or data center infrastructure. Enterprise system projects involving multiple areas and units. Enterprise system capital replacement planning. Assists institution with strategic planning in support of goals and initiatives. Expected provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members. May interface with key IT leadership and/or other functional leadership from the Texas Tech University System institutions. Adheres to all appropriate Institutional policies (including IT Ops) and other relevant internal departmental policies. |
| Qualifications | Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus twelve years related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience. For TTU Only: Applicants for this Security Sensitive Level II position will be subject to a criminal background check and must pass a drug and alcohol test after a conditional offer of employment has been extended, but before employment can be confirmed. |
| Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities | Mastered ability to: exercise judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities, plan and organize effectively, prioritize goals, use time efficiently, and stay on task, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, establish and maintain effective work relationships, lead teams and projects and provide leadershpi and mentorship to less experienced staff. Expert analytical skills, including system analysis, process description, logic, problem diagnostics, and problem solving. Demonstrated mastery with one or more enterprise class systems and/or systems platforms, including servers, virtualization, ERP applications and technologies, storage, messaging, communications, application servers, directory servers, and data center infrastructure. Demonstrated mastery in managing complex data center and/or systems administration projects. Demonstrated mastery implementing industry standards relevant to data center and/or systems administration. Advanced training in systems analysis, design, and administration through education and experience. Demonstrated mastery of security protocols related to area(s) of expertise. Preferred qualifications may include demonstrated subject matter expertise supporting enterprise systems, platforms, infrastructure, security, data, integration, identity, or ERP technologies; experience providing technical leadership across multiple functional areas; and advanced professional certifications. Beneficial certifications may include PMP, ITIL Managing Professional, Microsoft Expert-level certifications, VMware VCP/VCAP, TOGAF, CISSP, CISM, cloud architecture, or equivalent enterprise certifications. Additional beneficial skills include enterprise architecture review, governance participation, risk assessment, service management, mentoring staff, technology roadmap development, and cross-functional leadership. |
