Position Class Title	Cadet
Position Description	Must be accepted to the Basic Peace Officer Training Academy which includes instruction and training mandated by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. A cadet must attend scheduled classes and actively participate in programs of instruction. Duties involve timely completion of assignments, participating in classroom projects and discussions, and receive hands on training in various skills needed by entry level police officers. The Cadet is expected to make passing grades during the program and upon successful completion of the academy, obtain a Basic Peace Officer license from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
Qualifications	Be at least 21 years of age. Possess a college-level associate degree, if younger than 21. Have no convictions for a Class A misdemeanor or felony offense. Have no convictions for a Class B misdemeanor offense in the past 10 years. Possess good mental and physical health. Possess a valid Texas driver's license Be a U.S. citizen
