Position Class Title Food Service Worker I
Position Description Performs manual and routine duties in food service and/or kitchen areas. Responsible for the preparation and replenishment of food, and for custodial duties of the dining and kitchen areas. Duties are performed under close supervision and is reviewed while in progress or upon completion. Ability to perform physically demanding activity including lifting, walking, and stooping.
Qualifications No previous experience or education required. Ability to learn the care and use of basic food service equipment and kitchen utensils. Ability to learn routine methods and practices of food preparation and services. Ability to learn health hazards in food preparation, service and necessary precautionary measures. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees and supervisors. Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.
