| Position Description |
Interpreter services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students registered for services through Student Disability Services and enrolled as an undergraduate/graduate student at Texas Tech University. Performs other assigned duties and responsible for supporting the programs and services provided by Student Disability Services, work schedule may vary to accommodate day and evening courses. Work is performed under direction and performance is evaluated on accomplishments of assigned tasks, job performance and dependability. |
| Qualifications |
Texas Board for Interpreter certification or RID level of Basic, Advanced, or Master; or be able to obtain Basic level certification within one year of hire, or show progressive improvement towards certification. Ability to interpret language at various levels of difficulty with knowledge of vocabulary and grammar. Fluent use of American Sign Language spoken to sign and sign to spoken. |
