Program Brochure

Yassou!  (Greek word for Hello).  In this program, students will earn SIX credits taking classes on both Gender Development and Human Sexuality. Studying Gender & Sexuality within the backdrop of Greece offers an enriching, dynamic, and once-in a-lifetime experience. Greece is considered the birthplace of Western Civilization and the importance of gender and sexuality in Greece has been integral to its history and our understandings of Western Civilization. During our 12-day program in Greece, we’ll explore legendary ruins (e.g., The Acropolis and Knossos Palace; the Eleusis) as well as modern culture (e.g., touring wineries; taking a cooking class; visiting a non-profit organization; enjoying a beach day) through the lens of gender and sexuality. We’ll be journeying through Athens and Nauplion in mainland Greece and the beautiful islands of Crete and Santorini
