"A Night with Authors," a Signature Literary Lubbock Event, will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 in the University Library's Croslin Room at 18th and Boston.
The event is presented by Texas Tech Friends of the Libraries, Texas Tech University Press and Texas Tech University Libraries.
This kickoff event for the Lubbock Book Festival will feature University Press authors:
• Nancy Draves, A Promise Fulfilled: The Kitty Anderson Diary and Civil War Texas, 1861
• Bob Horton, Of Bulletins and Booze: A Newsman's Story of Recovery
• Ruben Molina, Chicano Soul: Recordings and History of an American Culture
• Janet M. Neugebauer, A Witness to History: George H. Mahon, West Texas Congressman
The event will feature a wine and beer reception, a seated dinner with menu created by Texas Tech Top Tier Catering, a silent auction and literary program spotlighting the featured books and authors. Signing and visiting with authors will follow the event, which benefits the Grover E. Murray Studies in the American Southwest, a book series published by Texas Tech University Press honoring Texas Tech's former president.
