Cut Research Time – Find-it-Fast

The Libraries' multifaceted search engine - Find-it-Fast - is a portal that provides an easy way to simultaneously search for information in a variety of electronic resources.

You can drastically cut your research time by quickly and efficiently exploring the Library's catalog and databases all with a single search!

The Find-it-Fast search engineis made up of the following components:

  • QuickSearch – search for articles or other information on a topic
  • Find Database – find article databases and indexes, e-journal and e-book collections, encyclopedias and more
  • Find e-Journal – find individual e-journals by title
  • CrossSearch – search across multiple e-resources by selecting a type from the dropdown list in the left-hand panel. Here, you can search databases in more narrow categories than those found in QuickSearch.

LIBR 1100 - Introduction to Library Research

We know the amount and variety of information that is available today is overwhelming—both in terms of what's in the Library (books, microforms, serials, etc.) and what's outside the Library (licensed electronic resources, Internet resources, etc.).

That's why the Library offers LIBR 1100 - an introduction to Library Research. This is a semester-long, one-hour course designed to teach students lifelong information literacy skills and how to do research in a university library.
