Teaching Evaluations

The Teaching, Learning and Professional Development Center, in collaboration with the Texas Tech Teaching Academy Executive Council, has worked to develop this resource to help support the work of departments, areas and units in the process of seeking and providing peer observational feedback in teaching and learning. Our work is guided and informed by the Definition of Teaching Excellence at Texas Tech and tied to the pillars of student centered, intentional, evidence-based instruction that engages the learner actively. About the Teaching Evaluation Initiative.

Why Peer Review?

The 3 Voice Model: Student Evaluations, Self Reflection, and Peer Evaluations

The newly adopted Definition of Teaching Excellence at Texas Tech opens the door for exciting possibilities in the observation and evaluation of teaching and learning across disciplines.  Historically, teaching effectiveness has been measured through student feedback, which can be effected by inherent biases, or observational feedback that may be limited to an isolated class period or lack clarity for how to use the feedback to improve.  It is our hope in this space to provide a place to start and valuable resources for those looking to seek and provide feedback in the teaching and learning process that will ultimately lead to great levels of faculty success.
