Kaitlyn E. Wooton, MS, DVM

Assistant Professor of Veterinary Practice

Kaitlyn Wooton, faculty member at Texas Tech University

About Me

Kaitlyn Wooton was born and raised in rural central Kentucky and has deep roots in animal agriculture. Her interest in veterinary education flourished during her time at Lincoln Memorial University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where she discovered a knack for translating complex information into practical, accessible learning. Before joining Texas Tech University’s School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Wooton worked as a mixed-animal veterinarian in rural Kentucky, with primary interests in small ruminant medicine and surgery, as well as small animal surgery and dentistry. Her time in practice reinforced her passion for clinical teaching and hands-on mentorship. At Texas Tech, Kaitlyn serves primarily within the Clinical and Professional Skills curriculum as the Instructor of Record for Semesters 1 and 2. The best part of her job is the students- she loves helping them develop strong hands-on competencies and build professional confidence.
