RaiderVet Summit Series: NeuroLogic
Join the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine for an immersive, case-based
continuing education experience designed to enhance practical small animal neurology
skills for veterinary professionals.
Led by board-certified neurologist Stephanie A. Thomovsky, this engaging one-day RaiderVet Summit Series event blends interactive hands-on learning, real-world case discussions, and video interpretation to strengthen neurologic assessment and seizure management skills you can immediately apply in clinical practice.
Enjoy a welcoming, boutique-style learning environment with a quaint small-group setting that encourages collaboration, conversation, and personalized instruction. Participants are encouraged to bring their own seizure cases for discussion or submit cases in advance to svm.ce@ttu.edu to be incorporated into the session experience.
Attendees will earn 8 hours of AAVSB RACE-approved continuing education credit while connecting with rural small animal veterinarians who share a commitment to advancing small animal patient care.

8:00 – 9:30 am (1.5 CE veterinarian medical credits)
Refresh and refine your neurologic examination skills while learning how to localize lesions within the nervous system using practical clinical approaches.
Hands-On Neurologic Examination Lab
9:30 – 11:00 am (1.5 CE veterinarian medical credits)
Apply neurologic examination techniques in a guided laboratory setting designed to reinforce clinical confidence and interpretation skills.
Neurolocalization Case Exploration
11:00 am – 12:00 (1 CE veterinarian medical credit)
Work through video-based patient examples ranging from straightforward neurologic presentations to more advanced and challenging cases.
Weird & Wacky Episodes
1:00 – 2:30 pm (1.5 CE veterinarian medical credits)
Learn how to evaluate unusual patient episodes captured on home video and determine whether cases are neurologic, behavioral, cardiovascular, or otherwise in origin.
Seizures: Pathophysiology & Treatment
2:30 – 4:00 pm (1.5 CE veterinarian medical credits)
Review seizure mechanisms, differential diagnoses, and evidence-based anticonvulsant therapies commonly utilized in veterinary medicine.
Seizure Scenarios
4:00 – 5:00 pm (1 CE veterinarian medical credit)
Attendees are welcome to bring specific case examples or submit them ahead of the Summit. Explore practical case management strategies for focal seizures, cluster seizures, status epilepticus, and long-term epilepsy care through interactive discussion and clinical examples.
