Texas Tech Wool Judging Team
The 2011 Texas Tech wool judging team was awarded champion honors and narrowly defeated the competition at the National Western Stock Show by one point to win the wool judging contest in Denver for only the second time since 1986. Tech's other team finished fourth in the competition.
Teams from Colorado State University, Angelo State University, and South Dakota State University also finished in the top five overall. Brittany Thompson, a freshman from Allen, was sixth, Tanner Adams, a freshman from Sanger, was eighth, Steven Ebeling, a freshman from Plainview, was ninth and Whitney Keith, a freshman from Giddings, was tenth.
The team was coached by graduate student Aaron Jennings and undergraduate Craig Leonard. They also competed at the San Antonio Stock Show and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

The 2012 wool judging team was narrowly defeated at the National Western. Only one point separated the top three teams. South Dakota State won the contest with a score of 1,807. Texas A&M finished second with 1,806. Texas Tech finished third with the same score and won the grading division.
The team is coached by graduate student Aaron Jennings and undergraduates Brittany Thompson and Trevor White. They will also compete at both the San Antonio and Houston Livestock Shows this spring.
