Open OnDemand - Texas Tech University

Open OnDemand on the Texas Tech University High Performance Computing Center (TTU HPCC) systems provides a user-friendly, web-based portal that simplifies access to advanced computing resources. Through a standard web browser, researchers and students can seamlessly manage files, submit and monitor jobs, and launch interactive applications, all without the need for complex command-line operations.

Connecting to Open OnDemand 

1. Navigate to https://ondemand.hpcc.ttu.edu

2. Enter your eRaider username and password to authenticate and log in to the Open OnDemand portal.

If you encounter login issues or are unable to access the portal with error  "Error – failed to map user (username@ttu.edu)”,  please contact HPCC Support at hpccsupport@ttu.edu for assistance.

Red Raider Cluster: Shell Access

You can open a shell interface to the Red Raider Cluster directly through the Open OnDemand (OOD) portal. This provides command-line access to the cluster environment without requiring a separate terminal or SSH client.

Using Interactive Apps

Open OnDemand provides Interactive Apps that enable running graphical and development tools on cluster compute nodes directly through a web browser. Detailed setup and usage instructions are available for each Interactive App.

File Access

Access, upload, and manage files on the HPCC directly through the Open OnDemand portal. Users can browse directories, transfer files, and organize data without using command-line tools.

Job Composer

The Job Composer allows creation, submission, and monitoring of computational jobs on the cluster through an intuitive web interface. Define job parameters, submit scripts, and track job status efficiently.

Help & Support

The Help Icon provides quick access to guidance, documentation, and support resources within the Open OnDemand portal, assisting with navigation and troubleshooting.
