Our Vision

The Intercultural Information Service branch of the University Libraries work to engage students, faculty, and staff with specialized information services focusing on multiculturalism. We also provide library services designed to promote intercultural awareness to our diverse student, faculty, and staff populations. By recognizing the cultural pecliarities of our university community, we provide information resources aimed at meeting both the individual and collective needs of our patrons.

Our Mission

As part of the User Centered Services of Texas Tech University libraries, the mission of the Intercultural Information Services include:

·        Supporting students' academic success and cultural experiences outside the classroom

·        Creating intercultural awareness among students through library services and information resources

·        Educating students from different cultures on relevant intercultural information services available and accessible

·        Identifying and combating misinformation, disinformation, and miseducation within the university community

·        Assisting students to understand the library as an institution that cares about students' well-being, academic success, and socio-politically informed citizens

·        Committed to helping students become information literate through lifelong education.
