Ashlyn Rockey serves as the 2024-2025 Journal Clerk of the Student Senate for the academic year. Ashlyn Rockey is a second-year senior from Monte Vista, Colorado, pursuing a degree in Agricultural Leadership and Political Science with a double minor in Agricultural and Applied Economics and Agricultural Communications.

Ashlyn had the privilege of becoming very involved throughout her first year at Texas Tech. She was a member of the First Year Council, where she worked to develop her leadership skills and advocate for fellow first-year students as a part of First Year Engagement within the Student Government Association. She has also served as an At-Large Senator in the Student Senate. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, where she currently serves as the Alumnae Relations Director. 

Ashlyn took an unconventional route from high school to college by working for a non-profit organization for a gap year. During this year, she traveled over 45,000 miles across Colorado, speaking and facilitating to numerous high schools and middle schools and working for the Colorado State University Spur Campus; she has developed into the leader and advocate she is today. Being an out-of-state rural student, Ashlyn is passionate about creating a movement of students eager to make change and create an unforgettable Texas Tech experience for all. She attributes her passionate, eager, and hardworking spirit to being a 4th generation agriculturalist. She believes these experiences and much more have prepared her to serve behind the scenes in this pivotal role.
