About Me

She was born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma, Missouri and Kentucky. After many years spent in her dad’s mixed animal veterinary practice, she decided to go to veterinary school at Oklahoma State and focus on food animal medicine. After some time in private practice, she completed a residency to specialize in large animal internal medicine and taught at Kansas State, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State before joining the team at Texas Tech. She provides continuing education and consulting to large animal veterinarians and she and her husband ranch together in Oklahoma along with their 2 daughters.

Instruction

She teaches in all areas of the food animal curriculum, including lectures, labs and advising on clinical cases at the Hereford instructional center.

Research

Her research interests have focused on the prevention of small ruminant urolithiasis, treatment strategies for beef cattle lameness and veterinary education.

Service

She is an active member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners where she has served on committees and the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners where she has served on the Board of Directors and committees. She is also on the Board of Directors of Viticus Group (Western Veterinary Conference).
