Jeanna Balreira

By morning and night, I'm a mom of two redheaded boys, ages 3 and 5, and by day I'm the assistant vice president for Strategic Communications and Marketing at Trinity University in San Antonio, my undergraduate alma mater. I completed Texas Tech's MATC program in 2019, and came back to begin work on my PhD in 2021. I'm highly interested in authenticity in marketing (especially in higher ed), the importance of internal communication in brand reputation and identity, and target-audience-based technical communication in K-12 and higher ed. After graduation, I plan to launch a nonprofit with the mission of distributing literature to parents to help guide them in speaking with their children about gun violence and school safety.

At Trinity, I teach in the communication department and serve on the faculty advisory board for the Arts, Letters, and Enterprise Program. I'm also a member of my church choir and sing with the Beethoven Damenchor in San Antonio's Southtown. And when I'm not doing any of that, I'm fishing with my family in Rockport, tending a fledgling urban vegetable garden, or cheering on any and every Brazilian soccer team.
