The area around Texas Tech University's historic dairy barn is set for a facelift in the coming year, as the university puts a major campus beautification project in gear. A portion of the $2.5 million project includes a mixture of trees and walkways for the area between the dairy barn and the main library building. Along with planting new trees, the project will also include new landscaping and will renovate the irrigation system, lighting and walkways. Planting is expected wrap-up by the middle of March.
Texas Tech University's Department of Landscape Architecture is hosting two coordinated events later this week on the main university campus. Among the highlights are the department's first annual WreckShop, an event organized for students and alumni to interact in an informal workshop environment. Separately, Tech's historic Agricultural Pavilion will be a featured stop on Lubbock's 'First Friday Art Trail' event.
