David A Driskill is the recipient of a 30-year pin from Texas Tech University. He has committed his career to engagement from his initial appointment to the Board of Architectural Review for the Old and Historic District in Alexandra, Virginia (1972) to his current position as Director of UrbanTech, a graduate level engagement studio located at the Texas Tech University Downtown Center. He was awarded the Kleinschmidt Award for distinguished achievements in his career and representing Texas Tech University in an exemplary manner at the annual College of Architecture Alumni gathering in November 2018, Driskill*Hill in association with McKinney Architects won a design award from the Texas Society of Architects for the Buddy Holly Center (1997).

Driskill was instrumental in the establishment of the Louise H Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA) working closely with Louise Underwood since 1997 and as a former member of the board. He is a recent member of the Urban Design and Historic Preservation Commission for the City of Lubbock and is a new member of the board for the Lubbock Heritage Society. His research is focused on the creation of places with a high quality of life within a sustainable framework.
