Jimmy Johnson is a founding partner and owner of WCA Design Studio, LLC., in Lubbock, Texas. He is currently the Senior Project Architect for Design Development & Quality Control, Technical CADD Expert & Computer Systems Specialist, as well as Operations Manager. He maintains multiple roles daily including training and mentoring aspiring architects within the firm.

He is currently licensed in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Florida to professionally practice architecture, is an N.C.A.R.B. certificate holder, and a current member of the American Institute of Architects.

Jimmy attained a Master of Architecture Degree from Texas Tech University College of Architecture in May of 1999. He is passionate about architecture and has developed innovative procedures to assist in the presentation, production, and management of buildings using the Building Information Model. Jimmy owned a successful design and construction business from February 1991 to April 1999 while working toward his Master of Architecture. This field work was paramount in his current accomplishments. He is dedicated to the field of architecture and has made it his life's journey to bring buildings to life in new and creative ways. He is an effective leader and manager of both staff and projects and strives to build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and fellow employees.

During his professional career, Jimmy has developed a series of technical tools for use with Autodesk's AutoCAD Architecture platform which enhance the software's capabilities and has integrated these tools into multiple firms. While maintaining an extreme fervor for the design and production of good buildings, he found a love for teaching technical processes that will catapult the profession into the 21st century and beyond.

Jimmy possesses both an extreme passion and extensive education and knowledge of 3D modeling and architectural design in several software platforms. This has become his preferred method of design development. While CG Modeling is one of his strongest assets, he still maintains a love for classic pencil & paper conceptual design. Jimmy maintains a strong belief that buildings come to life from the mind through the hand, no matter which tool is embraced. Through his in-depth education and experience, he will be paramount to the enhancement of the future of architecture.
