RRO Steps and Process
Texas Tech's RRO is made up of three parts:
Part 1) Online Modules
- RRO Online Modules will introduce you to the resources and services provided to you as a Texas Tech student.
- These online modules must be completed prior to your RRO Advising & Registration session. Your "Academic Orientation" hold will only be removed on your session date AFTER you complete all of your modules.
- Be sure to use the admitted student tasklist to help you navigate.
- Make sure youve set up your TTU Email!
Part 2) Check-in
Check-in at the Student Union Building (SUB)
To make your RRO and Advising session go as smoothly as possible if youve not already
completed the CHEMISTRY placement exam, please do so prior to your advising session.
Advising Process:
- To make your RRO and Advising session go as smooth as possible please complete the CHEM placement exam (CPE) prior to your RRO session!
- After a brief information session from the College of Arts and Sciences presenter. You will be escorted to the Department of CHEM BCHE for advising.
- After the session, advisors will work with students individually.
- During your appointment you will learn and discuss the following:
- Your Degree Plan
- What courses are required by Texas Tech and the College of Arts and Sciences to graduate.
- If you are a transfer student or a dual credit student, your advisor will review your previous transcripts and apply transferable credits to your degree plan.
- Confirm that all of your holds have been removed.
- Schedule Builder and how to register for classes.
- During your appointment you will learn and discuss the following:
- Register for classes
- After you have met all of the requirements set by Orientation Services, have removed all of your holds and met with your academic advisor you will be ready to register for classes.
- You may begin to register when registration opens at the designated time. The college advising team will be available at RRO Registration Advising to help with questions, major changes and holds, etc.. If you have questions about courses or registration, just drop in and we will be glad to assist you.
Part 3) Raider Welcome
Raider Welcome is a week of FUN and FREE events designed to welcome new and returning students to the Texas Tech campus. Raider Welcome occurs after Residence Hall move-in and throughout the first week of classes.
Supplemental Instruction
SI provides regularly scheduled review sessions led by SI Leaders (undergraduate students) who have previously earned an A in the course.
The Learning Center
The Learning Center offers FREE drop-in tutoring in chemistry in addition to other subjects such as math, physics, and biology.
