Doctoral student Nick Varney has been selected to participate in the Education Policy Academy

The Education Policy Program of Texas Tech's College of Education is pleased to announce doctoral student Nick Varney has been selected to participate in the very selective Education Policy Academy.

The Academy, hosted by the American Enterprise Institute in Washington D.C., accepts 20 promising Ph.D. students annually. The cohort participates in an intensive week-long exploration of how the worlds of education research, policy, and advocacy interact.

“Developing leaders in the area of educational policy has never been more important than it is now,” said Dr. Jacob Kirksey, an assistant professor in the education policy program at the College of Education. “We are so excited that Nick was accepted into the Academy and will have the opportunity to grow alongside other talented graduate students from a wide variety of backgrounds.”

The Ninth Annual Education Policy Academy will take place May 20th – May 23rd, 2024.
