LBSI Info

The Libraries Building Services and Inventory (LBSI) is responsible for all maintenance issues for the Texas Tech Libraries, Southwest Collection/Special Collection Library, as well as the Remote Storage Facility. These facilities include over 372,000 square feet of building space.

LBSI is staffed by three full time positions and between 9 and 16 part time student assistants.

The individual responsibilities of our staff are as follows:

  • Jordan Moore – Unit Coordinator: Manages department work-load, development and planning of Library projects, renovations, relocations, expansions, and/or reconfigurations. Acts as Building Emergency Manager.
  • Breawna Sellers – Building Services Section Coordinator: Manages incoming Work Requests, acts as liaison between University and Off Campus Work Crews, maintains Work Request database, Library Fleet of Vehicles, and coordinates student work assignments.
  • Charley Pope - Setup Lead Specialist: Coordinates setups and staging of Library functions, manages inventory of tagged TTU resources,  mailroom and delivery of mail/packages.

SA Forms

  • Schedule for Semester - Form
    • This form is for submitting your schedule for a new semester so a work schedule can be made.
    • This form is also for submitting changes to your schedule due to classes being added/dropped or an ongoing conflict.
  • Finals Schedule - Form
    • Based on the information entered, SA's will be assigned a different schedule during Finals than the rest of the semester.
    • Students will be required to work on Dead Day. Exceptions will only be granted by Unit Manager.
    • Students may be asked to work the day of a final but WILL NOT be scheduled 2 hours BEFORE a final so they can review.
    • PLEASE NOTE: Schedules for Monday, DEC 11th, will be upheld even if a student emails LBSI over the weekend for more study time.
    • Please schedule your study times around your work schedule and finals. Once the schedule for Finals is published, you will be required to work your scheduled shift. Exceptions will only be allowed in emergencies, if notice is given by emailing libraries.lbsi@ttu.edu and approval is given from Unit Manager.
    • If Form is not completed by the due date given, students must submit their requests to the Unit Manager for approval (Jordan.moore@ttu.edu). Partial information can be submitted by due date and updates/changes can be made by emailing Unit Manager (Jordan.moore@ttu.edu).
  • Request to return after break - Form
    • This Form is to designate the date a student can begin working again after a break (i.e. interim, summer, etc.).
    • It takes some time to get records updated after a student has been away. You will not be approved to work unless this Form is submitted. Three days prior to start date is required.
