John Brownlee
John Brownlee is a Principal at Brownlee Waggoner Holdings, LLC, a Dallas-based real
estate investment and advisory firm he co-founded in 2025. With over 30 years of experience
in commercial real estate finance, John has originated and structured more than $12
billion in transactions throughout his career. His expertise spans multifamily, office,
retail, and industrial properties, with a specialization in structured finance solutions
including debt placements, joint ventures, and mezzanine capital.
Prior to founding Brownlee Waggoner Holdings, John was a Senior Managing Director at JLL (formerly Holliday Fenoglio Fowler), where he built a distinguished track record advising both private and institutional clients across the southern United States.
John is a past Chair of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) DFW District Council and has served on ULI's National SSDC Product Council. He is actively engaged in industry leadership, having served on boards and councils including The Counselors of Real Estate (CRE), Freddie Mac CME Advisory Council, and the Pure Multifamily REIT Board. He is a licensed Texas real estate professional and holds the CRE designation.
A 1994 graduate of Texas Tech University with a BBA in Marketing, John chairs the Center for Real Estate Advisory Council and serves on the Texas Tech Foundation Board and the Rawls College Deans Advisory Council, and. He resides in Lucas, Texas, with his wife Rachel and their three daughters.
