Pat Gordan
Pat Gordon is a founding shareholder of Gordon Davis Johnson & Shane P.C., where he has practiced for over 35 years, specializing in tax, business, corporate, and transactional law. As a board-certified attorney in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and a licensed Certified Public Accountant, Pat provides counsel on the tax and business aspects of complex domestic and international transactions. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, cross-border structuring, and representation before the IRS and federal courts.
In addition to his legal practice, Pat is a licensed real estate broker in Texas and co-founder of Vista Star Inc., a commercial real estate development firm. His professional expertise in real estate is deeply rooted in family tradition and has significantly influenced his academic and philanthropic endeavors.
A proud Texas Tech alumnus, Pat earned his J.D. and MBA concurrently in 1983, exemplifying his dedication to multidisciplinary excellence. He currently serves as a Regent for the Texas Tech University System and, along with his wife Laura, is a prominent benefactor of the university. Their support includes the Pat and Laura Gordon Endowed Scholarship at the School of Law and the establishment of the Gordon Family Center for Real Estate Endowment at Rawls College, which aims to advance real estate education and industry engagement.
Pat's distinguished legal career has been recognized by numerous accolades, including multiple selections to The Best Lawyers in America and Texas Super Lawyers for both tax and corporate law. He is also a former Texas Commissioner on the Rio Grande Compact Commission and has served in leadership roles at the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and El Paso Children's Hospital.
