As executive vice president of CBS Health and president of Pharmacy Service, Mr. Joyner leads the team serving the employers, health plans and government businesses who look to CVS Health to provide prescription drug coverage and health services to their 110 million members.

Mr. Joyner has more than 37 years in the healthcare and managed care industry.  After graduating from Texas Tech University in 1986 with a B.B.A. in Finance, he was recruited by Aetna as an Employee Benefit Representative.  He joined Caremark Prescription Services in 1993 as a regional sales manager and was fortunate to spend a successful career in the dynamic Pharmacy Benefit Management industry.  After 27 years and 5 transformational mergers and acquisitions, he briefly retired from CVS Health in 2020. During his first stint with CVS Health, Mr. Joyner led all sales and marketing functions, helping to grow the business from $500 million in 1993 to more than $140 billion in annualized revenue in 2019. Mr. Joyner also currently serving as an advisor to several PE backed healthcare companies

David and his wife, Carrie, have four children and currently live in Southlake, TX.  He still enjoys playing soccer and golf.  Retirement has also afforded him more opportunities to enjoy their homes in Possum Kingdom Lake and Hamilton, Montana.
