John Brownlee

Mr. John Brownlee is a Senior Managing Director in JLL's Dallas office with more than 28 years of experience in commercial real estate finance.  He is primarily responsible for originating debt and equity placement transactions on behalf of both private and institutional clients throughout the southern United States.  Mr. Brownlee's focus is on multi-housing, office, retail and industrial properties, with a specialization in multi-housing and office.  During the course of his career with JLL (formerly HFF), he has completed over $10 billion in commercial real estate transactions.  Mr. Brownlee joined the firm in August 1994.

Mr. Brownlee earned a B.B.A. in Marketing from Texas Tech University in 1994 and has been active in the establishment of the Real Estate Center through the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University and now serves on the Advisory Council for the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University.

Mr. Brownlee has served on several boards and received several designations during his career including Chair of ULI DFW (Urban Land Institute), Governance Chair- ULI DFW, member of ULI National Product Council- SSDC (Blue Flight), Sponsorship Chair- ULI National Fall Meeting in Dallas (2022), CRE designation from The Counselors of Real Estate, Texas Real Estate License, previous member of The Real Estate Council (TREC), Freddie Mac CME Formation Advisory Council (2008), and the U.S. Member Pure Multifamily REIT Board.

Mr. Brownlee has also served on the Board of Elders for Messiah Lutheran Church in Plano from 2011 on.  He lives in a northern suburb of Dallas called Lucas with his wife Rachel (‘94 Texas Tech graduate) and his three daughters- Alexandra, Allison, and Anna.
