Phyllis H. Sarkaria has more than 30 years of experience in the energy and life science industries. She has held executive roles in government affairs and human resources and has had responsibility for functions as diverse as strategic planning, merger integration, and team effectiveness.

Before founding The Sarkaria Group in 2017, Phyllis served as head of HR at Quidel Corporation, a leading medical diagnostics manufacturer, where she was responsible for the company's global HR strategy and people programs for more than a dozen years. A published author on authentic leadership, Phyllis teaches ethics and HR analytics in the MA, Organizational Leadership and MA, Human Resources Management programs at Claremont Lincoln University, and has served on several non-profit boards in San Diego and San Francisco.

Phyllis completed her BBA, Finance (1984) and MBA (1986) at Texas Tech. Her coaching certification is through the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Phyllis and her husband, David, enjoy active travel and discovering new food and wines. They live in northern San Diego County and relish time with their grandchildren and ongoing efforts to train their Airedale Terriers.
