David Joyner

David Joyner serves as Chairman and CEO of CVS Health®. He leads more than 300,000 colleagues who are united around the ambition to be America’s most trusted health care company, by delivering on our purpose to simplify health care one person, one family and one community at a time. Under his leadership, CVS Health is advancing a coordinated approach to care that is affordable and accessible. Through its connected businesses, including insurance plans, pharmacies, clinics and health services, the company serves nearly 185 million people across America. 

With four decades of experience in health care and pharmacy benefit management, David has been a catalyst for systemic change across the industry. Before becoming Chairman and CEO, David led the company’s pharmacy benefit manager, CVS Caremark®. He began his career at Aetna® as an employee benefit representative. 

David holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from The Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University, where he currently sits on the advisory council.
