About the Lab

The NeuroTech Lab is a state-of-the-art research facility designed to support advanced experimental studies of human cognition, emotion, attention, and decision-making. The lab allows researchers to precisely study complicated human responses by combining behavioral and physiological measurement techniques within a synchronized framework. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the Rawls NeuroTech Lab can be used by faculty and doctoral students to conduct research in a controlled environment.

Fred Davis, Ph.D.

Research Direction

Operating under the direction and supervision of Fred Davis, Ph.D., the NeuroTech Lab supports interdisciplinary research at the intersection of neuroscience and information systems. The lab's research activities are coordinated by Farzad Abbasnezhad, Ph.D., and Jake Keas, Ph.D. candidate.

NeuroTech Lab features the following equipment:

  • Eye-Tracking and Visual Attention through Tobii
  • Electrodermal Activity (EDA), ECG (Electrocardiography) and PPG (Photoplethysmography) through BIOPAC
  • Facial expression analysis through FaceReader 9
  • Data Integration through Observer XT 17
