Chelsea Grunden

Yitzhak Fried, PhD and Trinity Professor of Management at the Rawls College, was recognized for two outstanding papers by the GLOBE Project, a large-scale international study of cultural, leadership and organizational practices.

Peretz, H., Fried, Y., & Levi, A. (2018). Flexible work arrangements, national culture, organizational characteristics and organizational outcomes: A study across 21 countries. Human Resource Management Journal, 28(1), 182-200.

Peretz, H. Levi, A. & Fried, Y. (2015). Organizational diversity programs across cultures: effects on absenteeism, turnover, performance and innovation. The International Journal of Human Resource Management, 26(6), 875-903.

The Global Leadership & Organizational Behavior Effectiveness, or GLOBE Project includes more than 200 researchers from 62 countries and has become one of the largest, most prestigious and most comprehensive studies of its kind in the social sciences. All papers submitted to the GLOBE were considered by a distinguished committee: Chair Neal M. Ashkanasy, PhD and professor of management at UQ Business School at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia; Paul Hanges, PhD and professor of industrial organization psychology at the University of Maryland; and Past President of GLOBE and Ex-Officio Board Member Peter W. Dorfman, PhD and professor emeritus at New Mexico State University.

Fried's recognition was a part of the GLOBE Robert J. House Best Research Paper Award, which typically only honors one submission. This year, however, the committee identified two other highly commended papers for their exceptional quality.

The Robert J. House Research Paper Award honors an outstanding recent dissertation-based article or published paper on leadership, societal or organizational culture using the GLOBE database, research tools, leadership or culture theory. Manuscript topics may include leadership, organizational behavior, organization theory, strategic management, corporate social responsibility, ethics or any other organizational relevant topic.
