35th Annual Dallas Scholarship Event

Enjoy dinner and good times with fellow Red Raiders at the alumni gathering that raises scholarship money for Dallas area students of the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business.

The 35th Annual Dallas Scholarship Event will be held at The Rustic in Dallas at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 16. The private social event will feature food, wine, beer, an auction, and live music entertainment by Flatland Cavalry.

"This event will be a great time for alumni to catch up with old friends and make new connections," said Ryan Todd, senior director of engagement and external relations for Rawls College. "Outstanding alumni, a great band, incredible food — You don't want to miss this night!"

The event will feature both a live and silent auction. The silent auction will feature a variety of items, including trips, gifts, Rangers tickets, Mavericks tickets, Cowboys tickets, and more. Silent auction bidding will begin online at 8 a.m. on May 2 and will close at 9:30 p.m. on May 16. Silent auction items will continue to be added as they are donated.

The live auction will be held during the event. It will feature more exclusive items such as Texas Tech University football suite tickets, a vacation in Ruidoso, New Mexico, and a Texas Tech basketball package.

This year's goal is to raise $100,000 and bring the endowment to over $350,000, said Ryan Todd, senior director of development at Rawls College. The scholarship supports Dallas area students and will award $8,500 worth of scholarships this year.

"We cannot thank Brian Heflin and PlainsCapital Bank enough, not only for their continued support of this event but also for hiring our students each and every year," Todd said.

PlainsCapital Bank returns as the title sponsor for the fifth year in a row. Their support of Rawls College remains continual, Todd said.

"A special thank you to all of our sponsors," Todd said. "Thanks to them, we are able to put on the premier annual Texas Tech alumni event in the country. In celebrating the event's 35th year, we look forward to bringing our Dallas area alumni together to network and raise funds to support our outstanding students from the Dallas area."
