B.A. in Theatre Arts
The Bachelor of Arts degree offers an innovative and flexible liberal arts education. Students choose elective courses for a minor from outside the major area discipline and thereby participate in an individualized degree.
The major in Theatre Arts offers broad exposure to the various elements of the theatre arts, including acting, history, directing, theory, and design. This degree program prepares students for further study at the graduate level or for careers in professional theatre, secondary education, or any career that builds on the skills and discipline of the performing arts.

New performance opportunities each semester. BA Theatre Arts students are encourage to audition or join the crew of any and all performances throughout the year.

Performance and choreography opportunities are provided to students each semester. Guest artists specializing in a variety of genres and with diverse skills are brought in each year to work with students in class and within production contexts.

Students pursuing a BA in Theatre Arts must meet admissions requirements for Texas Tech University. No additional audition or application is required for the BA in Theatre Arts.

The B.A. in Theatre Arts degree prepares graduates for a range of industry positions and the skillset to innovate. B.A. in Theatre Arts graduates are thriving as, for just a few examples, teachers, facilities managers, assistant safety coordinators, and assistant directors of production.
The B.A. in Theatre Arts coursework and experience constitute rigorous preparation for post-graduate degree programs in Theatre and other humanities and rigorous preparation for M.A. and M.F.A. programs in Theatre and other humanities.
Additionally, the B.A. in Theatre Arts degree provides excellent preparation for post-graduate education in areas outside the humanities, including law school and medical school.
