High school students interested in pursuing theatre or dance in college are invited to spend a day in the life of a Texas Tech SOTD major! Visiting students will take and observe classes, meet faculty, attend an information session about our major and minor programs, and mingle with our current dance students. Students will also have the opportunity to take a guided tour of our facilities and campus.

Parking

Guests for the Theatre tracks can park on the 4th floor of the Flint Parking garage. Guests for the Dance track can park in the Engineering Key.

There are other areas to park for Visitor or Paid Visitor lots (see parking map), but you might need to pay to park in those other lots. Attendants at the entry gates can assist you to visitor parking - please let them know you are here as visitors.

Drop-off

If you are being dropped off or picked up for the event, the Creative Movement Studio (CMS) is on the corner of Akron Avenue and 8th Street/Glenna Goodacre Ave (1395 Akron Avenue). There are spaces around the building for cars to pick up passengers quickly. The Maedgen Theatre is located at 2812 18th Street, near the TTU Library and Psychology building. It's a quick 12-minute walk from the Creative Movement Studio for the afternoon sessions.

Weekday Visits

For weekday visits to campus, please follow all posted parking signage. Please be aware of specially marked spaces, including handicap spaces, which are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For your lunch break, we will have pizza available in the Maedgen Atrium Lobby. There are also fast-food options in walking distance nearby along University Ave. There are food options in the SUB on campus, all of which are cashless locations.

There is one vending machine with snacks and water fountains in the CMS and Maedgen buildings. We also have a large fridge and microwave in the CMS and Maedgen buildings for those who want to bring something with them.

We strongly recommend bringing a refillable water bottle.
