The Residence Hall Association (RHA) serves as the voice for students who live within the residence halls on campus. RHA is the second largest student organization at Texas Tech University, representing every student who lives on campus. RHA provides many programs and activities to enhance the living environment in the residence halls and to encourage the exchange of ideas. There are many opportunities to make lifelong friendships as well as create useful networks of contacts through the university's professional staff and university administration.
RHA is proud to be an active member of the campus community and hosts a variety of highly anticipated signature events throughout the year.
RHA will host several events during this welcome period to campus in the Fall semester in conjunction with Texas Tech Student Involvement. Events vary from year to year.
Say Hey RHA
A week of events that showcases RHA and everything the organization can do for residents. Specific events vary from year to year but can include things like a movie screening, Karaoke, trivia, t-shirt tie-dying, etc.
All the residence halls are involved with Texas Tech's Homecoming week by creating Spirit Boards that are judged in their own category. These are large wooden boards that are displayed on 18th street and are painted by each residence hall that incorporate the Homecoming theme and Texas Tech pride.
This event allows the community to trick or treat inside the residence halls. Residents collaborate to decorate, create games and engage with guests to create a safe and fun Halloween evening.
Hosted in collaboration with the Student Activity Board. The organizations provide free transportation and admission to At'l Do Farms, where students can engage in Fall fun.
- Carol of Lights
This is one of the university's largest traditions and something very special that RHA has a hand in planning. This event is dedicated to ringing in the holiday season and includes a ceremony where the lights of campus are turned on.
Winter Raider Welcome
RHA will host several events during this welcome period to campus in the Spring semester in conjunction with Texas Tech Student Involvement. Events vary from year to year.
This event includes professional, local, and student drag performances. The purpose is to expose students to drag culture and the LGBTQIA+ community in a safe environment.
Hosted in collaboration with University Recreation and allows students to celebrate the end of the academic year, play games and sports, and enjoy food and each other's company.
