2023 Distinguished Partner Award

J. David Williams is a seasoned banker who has worked in the industry for over 40 years. He has held various positions of leadership and governance in several Texas banks, such as Citizens Bank, HCSB, TIB-The Independent BankersBank, Centennial Bank, Gulf Capital Bank and Happy State Bank. He has also been an active member and advocate of state and national banking associations, such as the Independent Banker's Association of Texas and the Independent Community Bankers of America.

In 2020, J. David and his wife Amanda made a generous donation to Rawls College to create the J. David & E. W. Williams Institute for Community Banking & Finance, which aims to provide exceptional educational opportunities for finance students interested in community banking. Their gift supports academic excellence, research innovation, scholarship funding, mentoring programs and career development for finance students.

Most recently, J. David and Amanda showed their commitment to their community of Kerrville by making a significant contribution to Kerrville's Petterson Foundation for the Campaign for the Future of Peterson Health's Ambulatory Surgical Center, which is expected to open on Peterson Hospital's campus in 2024.

J. David attended classes at Texas Christian University and went on to complete the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University and the Post Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is married to Amanda Barfield Williams and has two daughters and three wonderful grandchildren.
