2024 Distinguished Alumni Award

Mark Miller joined Goosehead, a $3 billion publicly traded personal lines insurance brokerage company, two years ago as president and COO and took on the role of CEO July 1, 2024. He has played a crucial role in the company’s growth and strategic direction since joining the board of directors at Goosehead’s IPO in April 2018. Goosehead has achieved in excess of 30 percent YoY increase in premium growth since the IPO. 

Mark has been entrusted with the goal to build Goosehead Insurance into the largest distributor of personal lines insurance in the founder's lifetime. In addition, Mark finds his personal purpose in helping thousands of entrepreneurs launch their own insurance franchise businesses. 

Before his tenure at Goosehead, Mark’s career spanned several high-impact roles in the technology sector. He served as CFO of numerous private equity-backed technology companies, including Pluralsight, Finastra, Marketo, ACTIVE Network, and Sabre Holdings. He began his professional journey after earning a BBA in accounting from Texas Tech University, subsequently working as an accountant at Ernst & Young where he became a certified public accountant. He later earned his MBA in finance from Rice University and joined the corporate finance team at American Airlines, Sabre Division.   

Mark resides in Westlake, Texas, with his wife Audrey who is also a Texas Tech graduate. The couple has two adult daughters, Mackenzie and Alexandra. Outside of his professional life, he and Audrey are avid travelers and enjoy hiking and skiing together.
