Nursing Support Services
Breast Pumps
Our nursing room at Rawls is equipped with a safe, efficient, and sanitary hospital-grade Medela Symphony Plus electric pump. You will need to provide your own breast milk collection kit. These kits are available at both University Medical Center (UMC) and Covenant Medical Center. Be sure to request a Medela hospital-grade pump kit. If you're unable to obtain one from the hospital, South Plains Medical Supply offers a 10% discount when you present a Texas Tech ID.
Nursing Mother Rooms
Texas Tech offers dedicated nursing rooms across campus to provide a safe, quiet, and private space for expressing milk during work hours. These rooms are available for use by nursing mothers who are Texas Tech employees or students.

Reserve a Room
Please follow this quick two-step process:
- Watch a short Nursing Pump Training Video covering how to use the Medela breast pump. This step is only required the first time a room is reserved.
- Contact Human Resources Leave Administration to reserve a room, date and time.
