Texas Tech University

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) / MBA & Health Organization Management (HOM) Concentration

In partnership with the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy, the Health Organization Management (HOM) dual degree program allows students to earn a Pharm. D. and MBA. This program will provide you with knowledge and skills to address the future leadership needs of an evolving pharmaceutical and healthcare environment.

Pharmacist and patient

program format

This program is designed so that students earn both degrees within four years. As part of this program, you will be enrolled in MBA courses during the summer semesters and in pharmacy classes during the fall and spring semesters. Some course offerings count as credit hours for both schools, enabling you to graduate with an MBA during your third year. You will work with advisors from both colleges to ensure all graduation requirements are met for each program.

admissions

Our Pharm.D./MBA program is now the largest in the country and if you qualify, you will be joining others who see the need for change within the pharmacy industry.

The School of Pharmacy requires completion of a PharmD-MBA Application form by February 15 of each year. A selection committee will review the academic achievement of each candidate and forward a recommendation to Rawls College. You should delay applying to Rawls College until a recommendation has been made by the selection committee.

If the selection committee recommends admission, you must complete a separate application to Rawls College by May 1 of the desired admission year. Rawls College maintains independent admission standards, therefore an admission recommendation by the School of Pharmacy does not guarantee admission to Rawls College.
