Q&A

Why did you choose to major in marketing?

I chose to major in marketing because it was the career path that fit my personality best. In marketing, you get to be very creative and you are put in an environment where you get to form relationships with so many people. There are so many different paths you can take in marketing, and I knew I would have many options hitting graduation.

What did you enjoy most about the marketing program?

Overall, what I enjoyed most about the marketing program is how Rawls College sets you up for success. There are so many resources to take advantage of, from the Career Management Center (CMC) to the mentors that Rawls can provide if you really get involved.

What educational accomplishments are you most proud of?

The educational accomplishment that I am most proud of is tackling the challenge of serving as TMA president. This role has been the most valuable learning experience of my life. At the end of the day, I am proud of not only leading the organization, but also ensuring others gain valuable skills that will help propel their future careers.

During your time at Rawls College, who has made the greatest impact on you, and why?

The people in the Tech Marketing Association have made the greatest impact on me. They teach me something new every day. The officers and members who oversaw me when I started off have made sure to guide me through my college experience and have been mentors in helping me find the career path I want to follow. Finding people that are pursuing similar goals as you and that have your best interest at heart is rare and special.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I have a summer internship with Accenture Consulting in the Dallas. This fall, I will be pursuing my Master's in Management at Southern Methodist University Cox. I am sad to leave Lubbock, but very excited about this new chapter!

Why do you love Rawls College?

I LOVE Rawls college because there are SO MANY opportunities here! Everywhere I go, everywhere I look, there is an opportunity to grow professionally in this college. The faculty has your best interest at heart and are constantly providing opportunities for students to network. Shout out to Jamie Pitman at the CMC! Go talk with her if you haven't! There are also so many opportunities to get involved on campus. Find an organization that fits you! They are so helpful and so fun!

Where do you see yourself in five years?

In 5 years, I am hoping to be at a job that I enjoy. I cannot tell you exactly what that is yet due to the little experience I have, but I hope to be doing something that I am good at in marketing and sales. I hope to be gaining experience and growing both professionally and personally.
