Looking back on your time at the Rawls College of Business, what’s been your most memorable experience or highlight?

I would say there is not one specific moment that stands out the most, but the overall sense of growth and community I experienced throughout my time here. Being surrounded by passionate faculty, driven classmates, and work that pushed me both academically and professionally made every semester impactful in its own way. Whether it was collaborating on group projects, engaging in thought-provoking discussions, or building relationships, the environment at Rawls consistently challenged and supported me. That collective experience shaped not only my business knowledge but also who I will be as a professional.

In what ways have Texas Tech and Rawls College shaped your life?

Texas Tech and the Rawls College of Business have shaped my life by instilling a mindset of persistence and continuous improvement. The challenges I faced in the classroom taught me the value of resilience and the importance of pushing through obstacles with determination. Each course and experience reinforced the idea that growth comes from consistent effort and a willingness to learn. That mindset has stayed with me, influencing how I approach both my personal and professional goals. Rawls didn’t just prepare me academically—it helped me develop the discipline and drive to keep evolving.

What’s one key piece of advice you’d share with future Rawls students?

One key piece of advice I’d share with future Rawls students is to embrace every challenge as an opportunity to grow, and to be intentional about building relationships along the way. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone—whether it’s in the classroom, during internships, or through everyday conversations. Growth happens through consistent effort, but it’s also shaped by the people you surround yourself with. Take the time to connect with professors, classmates, and mentors. Those relationships can offer support, open doors, and make your experience at Rawls even more meaningful.

What does it mean to you personally to serve as the banner bearer for the college?

Serving as the Banner Bearer for the Rawls College of Business is a tremendous honor. To me, it symbolizes the opportunity to represent not just my own journey, but the entire community of students, faculty, and mentors who make Rawls such a special place. It’s a celebration of the collective experience; the learning, growth, and relationships formed along the way. I’m grateful to be able to stand on behalf of the college and carry its banner with respect and appreciation.

Beyond the education and knowledge, you’ve gained, what else has Rawls College provided to help you in your future?

Beyond the education and technical knowledge, Rawls College has helped me develop a strong sense of professional identity and purpose. It’s taught me how to approach problems with a thoughtful, analytical mindset, while also considering the broader impact of my decisions. One of the most valuable things I’ve gained is the ability to navigate uncertainty with confidence—whether in group settings, interviews, or real-world business scenarios. The college also emphasized the importance of ethical leadership and accountability, which I know will be essential throughout my career. Additionally, the Career Management Center facilitated by Rawls played a crucial role in helping me find job opportunities through Meet the Firms and other events they set up. More than anything, Rawls helped me clarify who I want to be—not just as a professional, but as someone who adds value to any team or organization I’m a part of.

What inspired you to choose Rawls College of Business in the first place?

What inspired me to choose Rawls College of Business was its strong reputation for academic excellence and the supportive community it offers. I was looking for a program that not only provided a solid foundation in business principles but also emphasized real-world experience and professional development. Rawls stood out because of its commitment to preparing students for success beyond the classroom, through hands-on learning opportunities and connections with industry leaders. I knew it would be a place where I could grow both personally and professionally.

Congratulations to the August 2025 graduates!

The achievements of all the graduates, shown through their dedication, perseverance, and resilience, have led them to this moment, and with eyes on the horizon, the faculty and staff at Rawls College look forward to seeing all that these graduates will accomplish.
