Looking back on your time at the Rawls College of Business, whats been your most memorable experience or highlight?
It was hard to pick one specific memory of my time at Rawls. One of my favorite things I have seen in my time at Rawls is working with the same people across different classes. I have been in groups with people whom I met in either my freshman year or sophomore year, and we still keep in contact. One time during my junior year, I was in a group with some guys, and a few of us had worked together before. For the final presentation, we decided that we would all show up in full suits, even though it wasnt required. I remember walking to class that morning, trying not to get my suit dirty before the presentation. We might have been the only people in Rawls dressed up that day, but it was a great time, and I would love to do it again. The people at Rawls are fantastic, and it is cool to see things like this being encouraged.
In what ways have Texas Tech and Rawls College shaped your life?
My time at Tech has shaped my life by helping me find what I really want to do. I walked into college with no idea what the plan was, but through the great classes and professors I had, I gained a better understanding of what I would like to do in my future career. I liked the experience so much that I decided to stay around and get my MBA at Tech as well.
Whats one key piece of advice youd share with future Rawls students?
My key piece of advice would be to try everything that you can. Get as much knowledge as you can across as many areas as possible and keep growing. If you are sitting still, you are missing opportunities to learn and grow. Reach out to the people around you.
What does it mean to you personally to serve as the banner bearer for the college?
Personally, I am honored to be the Banner Bearer. If you had told me this when I started as a freshman, I would not have believed you. I was really shocked that this opportunity came up, but you know, when in Rome. So, I took the opportunity that was in front of me and accepted the role of the Rawls College Banner Bearer. It is truly an honor for me to represent my graduating class, and I am grateful for all the people in my life who helped make this possible. I hope to honor those people and the Rawls College as I carry the graduation banner.
Beyond the education and knowledge, youve gained, what else has Rawls College provided to help you in your future?
Beyond the knowledge I have gained at Rawls, I have also gained some great relationships that I intend to keep in touch with after graduation. There have been great networking opportunities at Rawls that have opened doors for me after I graduate.
What inspired you to choose Rawls College of Business in the first place?
I had no idea what I wanted to do when I graduated high school, and business just seemed like the logical choice for me. When I came to tour Tech, I went by Rawls and got to talk to a couple of students and faculty. That made the decision really easy for me. I knew that this was the place I wanted to be, and I am pleased with the decision that I made.
Congratulations to the fall 2025 graduates!
The achievements of all the graduates, shown through their dedication, perseverance, and resilience, have led them to this moment, and with eyes on the horizon, the faculty and staff at Rawls College look forward to seeing all that these graduates will accomplish.
