What is the Rawls Advisory Council?

Established in 2001 with 38 members, the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business created the RAC in response to the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation process, which strongly encourages business schools to engage external stakeholders through advisory councils. Today, the council includes 69 members, with a capacity of up to 75.

RAC members play an integral role in student success, providing mentorship, professional guidance, and financial assistance. They advise on various issues, including programs, recruitment, placement, and the competitive environment affecting business education. Serving as ambassadors for the Rawls College and Texas Tech University, members help enhance the college’s visibility, reputation, and connections within the business community.

How to Become a Member of RAC

RAC seeks business leaders who are committed to contributing to the college’s growth and impact. Membership is open to individuals who can dedicate time and energy to advance the college’s mission and support students. Ideal candidates may provide financial support, help recruit students into careers, and engage with the Rawls College community. Membership is not limited to Rawls College alumni.
