About
Brett Myers is an associate professor of finance at Texas Tech University and joined
the finance faculty in 2010. Myers' research focuses on the ways in which non-financial
stakeholders affect a firm's capital structure, the intersection of politics and finance,
mutual fund performance and fixed income.
Myers received his PhD in finance from UCLA in 2007, after which he worked as a senior
researcher and analytics manager for Research Affiliates, LLC, and was a visiting
professor at Purdue University for two years. Prior to pursuing his doctorate, he
worked at Baker Process, Cimetrix, DaimlerChrysler, Intel, Corp., and the United States
Army Reserve. He earned his BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah
and an MBA from Brigham Young University.
