Rick Bondurant will be joining the Rawls College of Business, Texas Tech University, as an associate professor of practice and inaugural Director of the Corporate Risk Management and Insurance program upon retiring as the Market President Austin Region and Statewide Property and Casualty Leader of Frost Insurance Agency on March 31^st, 2025.

Rick’s extensive industry experience in insurance and risk management began in 1980 when he joined his third-generation family agency in Arlington, Texas after graduating from Texas Tech.  

Rick sold his agency in 2001 to Frost Bank and later moved to Austin to become the inaugural Director of Agency Management Resources and eventually Chief of Staff of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas until rejoining Frost in 2017.

Rick has been active in several industry organizations over the years including as an IIAT Board Member and president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Tarrant Count. His involvement with education includes serving as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Dallas and the University of Texas at Arlington. His extensive community involvement includes stints as chair or president of several business and civic organizations including the Arlington Housing Authority, Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Arlington Economic Development Corporation, Downtown Rotary Club of Arlington, ARC of Texas Arlington Chapter and Arlington Symphony. He was a board member of both the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas and The Texas Society of Association Executives. Rick also served as a 7-year Big Brother with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Tarrant County.

Rick holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington and a BBA Finance from Rawls College of Business. Professional designations include Certified Association Executive (CAE), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS).
