About

Dr. Rasheek Irtisam is an Assistant Professor of Practice in Finance at the Rawls College of Business, Texas Tech University. His primary research interests include market microstructure, corporate finance, and the textual analysis of corporate disclosures. His research has been presented at numerous academic conferences, including the American Finance Association (AFA) Poster Session, Financial Management Association (FMA), Midwest Finance Association (MFA), Eastern Finance Association (EFA), Southern Finance Association (SFA), and Southwestern Finance Association (SWFA). His work has been published in the Journal of Banking and Finance and Financial Review.

Dr. Irtisam earned his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Memphis in 2022. He also holds an MBA from McNeese State University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Dhaka.

Since joining the Rawls College of Business, Dr. Irtisam has taught Corporate Finance I, Corporate Finance II, and Financial Statement Analysis. More recently, he transitioned to the Texas Tech University Online BBA program, where he teaches Financial Management, Investments, and Corporate Finance in a fully online format. He is committed to preparing students for successful careers in finance by connecting financial theory with real-world applications and decision-making.
