About

Majoring in management, Robert J. Ritchey graduated cum laude in the honors program from the Pennsylvania State University in 1970 with a BS in business administration. As a commissioned officer he spent two years writing correspondence courses for the US Army Intelligence Center and School. In 1974 he received an MBA Degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he also served as a faculty research specialist for the business college. In 1981 he received a PhD from the University of Arizona with specializations in finance, statistics and Quantitative Methods.

Since 1982 he has served as a faculty member of Texas Tech University in the Area of Finance, teaching upper-level undergraduate, masters, and doctoral courses, as well as a variety of professional development seminars. He has served as a consultant in charge of Computer Operations in the Division of Economic and Business Research at the University of Arizona. For three years he was chief financial officer for a small software development corporation.

His primary interests lie in corporate finance and investments with a specialization in microcomputer applications. He is currently involved in research in the options and futures markets. He has authored papers in academic journals and published over one thousand Excel spreadsheets for financial analysis. Ritchey is a College of Business Administration recipient of the President's Excellence in Teaching Award.

He is a long-time racquetball enthusiast, scuba diver, Boy Scout leader, husband of over 50 years and father of two wonderful children.
