About

Alireza Sheikh-Zadeh is an assistant professor at the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University and received his PhD from the University of Arkansas. His research interests include supply chain analytics, network theory, technology adoption and corporate social responsibility. His research findings have appeared in high-quality academic journals such as Omega, International Journal of Production Economics, Decision Support Systems and Computers and Industrial Engineering. He is also a first-place research award recipient of the Defense Data Grand Prix (Heat 3 2023) from the US Department of Defense for developing a model to predict lead-time variability in the aviation supply chain.

Sheikh-Zadeh teaches courses in optimization and simulation, multivariate data analysis and advanced statistical modeling. He is the recipient of the 2021 President's Excellence in Teaching Award at Texas Tech. His teaching philosophy encourages critical thinking. Sheikh-Zadeh expects students to understand and explain why specific quantitative methods are chosen and how they work in different contexts. He supports the synergy between research and teaching through active and collaborative teaching methods.
