About

Professor Sumanta Singha is an assistant professor of information systems and quantitative sciences at Rawls College of Business. Before joining Rawls, he worked as an assistant professor of information systems at the Indian School of Business.

His primary research interests are business analytics, statistics, machine learning and data-driven decision-making. His research explores how data analytics lead to an improved understanding of economic and social activities, thereby driving innovation, efficiency, productivity and growth.  His current research includes online marketplace, sharing economy, social media analytics, crowdsourcing, and decision theory.

He received his PhD in decision sciences from the University of Kansas and his Master of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.  Before pursuing PhD, he served in the industry in companies such as Larsen and Toubro, ITC Ltd., etc.
