With more than 10 years of experience as a business owner in the wine industry and 15-plus years in various academic roles at Texas Tech University, Emily Phillips brings a wealth of practical knowledge and expertise to the classroom.
As an instructor in the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business, Phillips focuses much of her time in the classroom educating students on the differences between the is and the should. Bringing real examples from her personal business experiences into the classroom, she is able to help students understand that what they learn in business school (the should) will not always be what they encounter in the workplace (the is).
Rawls College strives to produce graduates who are prepared to immediately make valuable contributions to their organizations. With a focus on academic and career preparation, Phillips reinforces the college's standards by emphasizing the potential value students possess upon graduation and holding all of her students to a high caliber of excellence.
